BC ISSO Support Without Borders
PLEASE READ, ACKNOWLEDGE and AGREE TO THE GUIDELINES of our BC ISSO/Personal Counseling Office online discussion group explained below:

This group is hosted by a personal counselor/facilitator but it isn’t formal psychotherapy (and not mental health treatment). The counselor can help you get more support and psychotherapy at Brooklyn College if you reach out to them by private chat.
You could also get counseling services at Brooklyn College by emailing BCPersonalCounseling@gmail.com or calling 718.951.5363.
For additional services outside of Brooklyn College, NYC has a 24-hour crisis and referral hotline: 1-888-NYC-WELL and a 24-hour domestic violence hotline: 1-800-621-HOPE (4673). You can also text the CUNY crisis hotline at 741741.

It is important for the group to feel like a safe space for sharing. In order for the group to be safe, members:

a) agree not to record the sessions
b) keep anything they hear in the group confidential.

There are exceptions to confidentiality to keep participants (or their loved ones) safe. A counselor-facilitator will break confidentiality if there is imminent risk to someone's life or if we hear about the abuse of someone currently under the age of 18. Confidentiality may also be broken if the counselor hears of a dependent or elderly adult being abused.
Meeting is over, you can not register now. If you have any questions, please contact Meeting host: Jesus Perez.
